Out of 3,625 votes, Mr. Osinbajo received 41 percent, with the late Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali coming in second with 27 percent.

Nigerian Twitter users chose Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as Nigeria’s “Man of the Year” in a Twitter poll conducted by SaharaReporters.
Out of 3,625 votes, Mr. Osinbajo received 41 percent, with the late Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali coming in second with 27 percent.
Mr. Osinbajo served as Acting President of Nigeria for a total of over three months in 2017 while President Muhammadu Buhari was in London receiving medical treatment.
During his time as Acting President, Mr. Osinbajo took on several presidential duties. He signed three executive orders, inaugurated the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), directed the expansion of the Social Investment Programmes (SIP), and attended the G7 summit where he met with U.S. President Donald Trump and other world leaders.
