Immediate past Senate President, David Mark, has reportedly become the latest government official to be a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The former Senate President is under probe for allegedly colluding with some officials of the National Assembly during his tenure, to divert billions of naira.
Sahara Reporters quotes sources as saying that Mr. Mark, a retired military general, was invited yesterday to make statements to EFCC investigators on how several billions meant for projects at the National Assembly were shared between him and a few others.
He was said to have been allowed to go home after the interrogation but is expected to return after the holidays.
Mr. Mark, who represents Benue South, was President of the Senate from 2007 to 2015 – the longest any senator has ever sat on the seat.
