An eye witness Mr Ifeanyi Nwadike has thrown more light into what actually led to the fatal auto crash along umuaka/Okwudor,Njaba bridge assumed to be head-on collision between the ill-fated truck and a passenger bus which claimed over thirty lives including a pregnant woman.
"It happened just at my backyard. I came to see my Mum on Thursday. I am from Ebenator Ekwe in Isu.Just like ShopRite & Silverbird Cinemas to the place the thing happened.
The real story is the driver of the Tanker fell initially. We all know how a Tanker filled with diesel will explode abi? We all watch foreign movies and we think it's Film tricks. It happened live yesterday.
A man driving his HighLander Jeep saw the threat and turned back immediately. He knew the Tanker would explode...maybeit was instinct.The Orlu driver who was selfish, rushing to Owerri to pick his next passengers just entered the spot and that was exactly when the Tanker exploded.
Jesu!I went to the place later cos it was originally thought that an Helicopter fell cos of the smoke and explosion. I was thinking another Biafran war has started. The explosion no be here O! The carnage, the burnt people will make me enter Fasting and Prayer for 6 days. I have not eaten since then.
They were burnt beyond recognition. The children, 1 Pregnant woman with her baby already due for delivery, 4 beautiful girls who were probably going to school, a man tried escaping through the window but got stuck, married women and men.
It was a gory sight. I just told my brother to drive back before I go vomit my Adam's Apple O! Life is sweet...no matter how you are suffering, the economy is.
Let me tell you, I learnt yesterday that you have to live your life the way it pleases you.Those kids were innocent but the Spirit of Death sees no one.Maybe it came for a particular 'Jonah' in that Bus and took all of those people away?
LIFE IS TOO SHORT!
FYI- The Fire Service had to take permission first before coming to save the lives of people. They came like 4 hours later
Can you imagine that?
What if the Tanker was carrying Fuel? A whole village would have been razed down. I pity Imo State.May their soul rest in peace!
